About Amboise

Amboise is one of the Loire Valley’s most captivating towns — a place where French history, culture, and everyday charm come together. Nestled along the banks of the Loire River, Amboise once served as a royal residence during the French Renaissance and still carries the graceful atmosphere of its noble past.

At the heart of the town stands the Château Royal d’Amboise, a striking hilltop fortress with panoramic views and a rich royal heritage. Just a few minutes away, the Clos Lucé offers a more intimate experience — the final home of Leonardo da Vinci, where his workshop, models, and gardens bring his genius to life.

The town itself invites exploration. Cobbled streets wind through a lively center filled with cafés, wine bars, bakeries, and artisan shops. Weekly open-air markets offer local produce, cheeses, and wines, while riverside paths and hidden courtyards provide quiet places to relax and take in the view.

Amboise is also an ideal starting point for discovering the Loire Valley. With easy access to Chenonceau, Chambord, and Chaumont-sur-Loire, and vineyards just minutes away, guests can experience the best of the region without ever feeling rushed.

Whether you’re here for history, wine, romance, or rest, Amboise offers a beautiful and memorable stay in the very heart of château country.
